I knew I was going to play some XBOX360 tonight since the dashboard update was coming out so once I was done getting the update I decided to check out the new XBLA game, Double Dragon. Now, I had positive memories of playing Double Dragon III back on my NES so I thought I'd at least check this out. Since it was only 400 MS points, I was pretty close to automatically buying the game. It's a good thing all XBLA games come out as demos as well...
I know it can't be just me, but why are all these "classic" games so difficult? I don't remember having a problem with these games when I was young. TMNT: The Arcade Game was down right easy and Double Dragon was pretty easy as well. Now, when I play these games I can't seem to go more than 2 minutes without dying. I've either gotten to smart for these games and try to out think the enemies or my memory is failing me.
Needless to say, I got my ass kicked by Double Dragon. I even played it with the "classic" graphics and I got my ass served to me even faster. I was frustrated and saved myself $5. Being in somewhat of a mood to spend some points, I forked out 800 points for Pinball FX. I played the demo the other day and enjoyed it, so I figured this would be a safe buy. I played all 3 tables and found the game to quite enjoyable. I can see myself playing this when I need to burn 5-10 minutes. The achievements seem to be fairly reasonable, but I've got to figure out exactly how to get them since most of them deal with completing some of the "mini-games" within the game. But, I think I'll take the lazy route for a while and just keep randomly pressing the triggers and see if I can get some achievements with just some dumb luck. This strategy is already proving itself as I picked up 4 achievements for 40 points tonight. And with that I called it a night since the Forza 2 demo wasn't out yet.
