NCAA Football 08

Quick post since I mainly want to get this picture up. As you can see, I got NCAA Football 08. I started my dynasty and this was the result of passing over the middle near two defenders. Some dude from Houston leveled my WR, but he hung on the ball!

NBA Street Homecourt

NBA Street Homecourt made its way to my mailbox on Saturday and I fired it up on Saturday. I'll get to my thoughts on that in just a second but first an update on other achievements.

I continued my Fight Night Round 3 achievement quest and I got my first achievement, Under Armour® Achievement. This is the problem with playing an old game, you remember some of the dated stuff associated with this game. I had completely forgotten about the horrendous Under Armour commercials and I found this so you can live through the pain again.

So, this gave me 100 points for the session. I'll probably pick up one or two of these achievements a week since it looks like most of the achievements you get from winning a title. I can see myself playing this a day or two a week between my NBA Street Homecourt and possible NCAA Football 2008 sessions.

Speaking of NBA Street Homecourt, I got this game this weekend and it's more fun that those barrels of monkeys. I managed to make my way though all of the in-game achievements for a total of 340 points. I challenges and online achievements to go, so I probably won't be getting any more of those 240 point days. The achievements were pretty straightforward to get, once I learned the controls. Homecourt is a blast to play and I'm looking forward to play this online. I'm sure it'll bring back good memories of playing NBA Jam with my buddies on the SNES.

Fight Night

I squashed my quest to get 1000 points for MLB 2K7 since I didn't think I'd ever get around to play like 50 games online to get the online achievements, so I traded the game away. I should be getting NBA Homecourt in a couple of days. I'm excited to get this game since I was impressed by the demo and have heard so many great things about it. Look for some achievements to be added to my gamerscore by early next week.

Another new game I picked up was Fight Night Round 3. I created my career mode character tonight and I'm doing pretty decent so far. I lost one match, simply due to the fact that I rarely block. I compensate for that I've built up my strength so my bouts don't have to last that long. I checked out the achievements on this and I guess it'll take me a while to get them, but the payoff is pretty good since there's only 8 achievements for 100 or 150 points each. I gave the online bouts a shot and promptly got my ass handed to me. My goal as I make my way to the first achievement is to learn to block.

Pac-Man, Gears, Uno and Crackdown...oh my

I finally got my last two achievements for Pac-Man C.E. last night and today. That's was a fun little game. I'm glad I forked over the 800 points for it. The two challenge modes were quite fun. I enjoyed the first challenge much more than the second one. The second one is just a bit too gimmicky for my taste. If you haven't played that challenge yet, the board is basically all black except you can see where all the pellets are and there's a halo of light around Pac-Man so you can see what's around you. My strategery for that one was to just take it slow and not make a mad rush to get points. I believe I got the achievement on my second try. The first challenge is much more enjoyable since there's the mad rush to get as many lives as you can during the first minute or so and then it's balls to the wall Pac-Man afterwards. I think I got the achievement after playing the challenge about 12 times.

With Pac-Man C.E. complete, I wanted to try to finish up some more games before all the big releases come out (starting with BioShock, and possible NCAA Football 2008). I tried my hand at some Gears of War multiplayer last night but that didn't last too long since I forgot what's it's like to play with people I don't know...so, I played the single player campaign for a bit. I need to hook up with someone to play some co-op to get the Dom achievements. Hit me up for an invite to play sometime!

I didn't get any achievements from Gears last night, but today I fired up some Crackdown and got some pretty random achievements. I believe I got the achievement for killing 500 gang members with explosives and getting all the intelligence on the Volk leaders. I blew up stuff for about an hour or so and then called it quits on that.

Up next was Uno. I'm still trying to figure out why I haven't gotten the achievement for 10 multiplayer XBL wins since I'm sitting at 16 wins in that category. I played couple of rounds of Uno and that was it. I just didn't have my usual good Uno luck tonight.

Back on the horse

It's been a while since I've posted anything but I don't think that matters since no one is viewing this, but I figured it's time to get back on the horse.

As far as achievements go, I've run in to a bit of a brick wall. I made my way through the majority of the MLB 2K7 achievements and I probably won't get any more from that game. I just don't have the desire to play 50 some odd games online, especially when I have a hard enough time getting through one without the dirty disc error.

I also got some achievements from Pac-Man C.E. I just need to finish off the last two challenges and I'll get all 200 points. That might be a while since I can get down to about the 3 minute mark before I'm out of lives. I need to cut down on the stupid mistakes, especially in the first minute of the challenge. I quite enjoy this game. I've heard people compare it to Geometry Wars but I really suck at that game (and I don't see myself getting any better), but I think it's better than GW since there isn't a ton of shit on the screen at once. Pac-Man C.E. is a classic example of a game where you just want to play for five more minutes and then you realize it's 2 AM.

I should be getting Fight Night Round 3 within the next week or so and I'm expecting to enjoy that a lot. I've played through the demo numerous times and I can tell you this, I'm not going to play as Roy Jones Jr. at all, I'm horrible with him.

As far as new games are concerned, I'm keeping a close eye on BioShock and will most likely get that when it comes out. I also need to pick up Forza Motorsport 2. I'm curious about the whole auction house and buying other people's cars. I'd gladly pay fake money for a nicely designed car since I'm bitter enemies with any graphic design.
