It's here

Well, it has arrived. I played about 30 minutes of BioShock tonight, and picked up a pair of achievements. I'll probably be working my way through this game over the next week since I won't be playing any 360 the week after. It was kind of weird playing the first part of the game after playing through the demo. I kept coming up on spots expecting there to be a turrets and bots, but they weren't to be seen. I didn't get in to the game that much since I saw a couple of friends online and decided to try to join them for some gaming.

I played another game of NCAA Football 2008 online tonight. I didn't pick up any achievements but I made it past halftime though. The first game I tried to play online I ending up disconnecting since I got a dirty disc error and had to reboot. This time around I mysteriously lost the connection to my opponent after I running all over him. I started the game out playing pretty poorly and was quickly down 17-0, but I stormed back and took a 21-17 lead at half time. It could've been 24-17 but I opted to try to get another TD instead. My opponent was Hawaii so I figured he could make a comeback with ease. I somehow managed to keep the ball away from him for about 5 minutes and he was apparently getting flustered by my attack. I kept feeding him a nice mixture of options, inside rushing, and quick passes that he didn't know what to expect. I rattled off several impressive plays that I quick I could've kept for keepsakes after the game.

I didn't get the win due to the disconnect but I got in some good work with my offensive strategy with Oregon. They've got a really good variety of option plays and a great RB tandem that makes Oregon pretty fun to play as.

My gamerscore is now over 6000 and I should be up over 7000 fairly soon with the addition of BioShock and NCAA to my collection.

Hexic 2

Not much has happened in the land of achievements for me. I've barely touched my 360 in the last week, but I plan on giving it some love this weekend and next week. I figure I better get in as much NCAA Football 08 as I can since BioShock official launches on the 21st and if I pick that up for the 360, then that's the only thing the 360 will be doing for a while.

As you probably know, the BioShock demo arrived on the 360 last week. I don't think they needed to release a demo because the hype and desire to the play this game was already pretty high. If anything, the demo was the frosting on the cake to make this a must-own game. The 21st cannot get here fast enough.

If you're an astute person, you'll know that I'm going to discuss Hexic 2...and you're correct. Hexic 2 doesn't stray too far away from Hexic so the game was easy to pick up and play. I like all of the tweaks they've added to the game and the multiplayer. My wife enjoyed the first Hexic so I can see us having some epic multiplayer battles in the future. The game is 800 points, which I'm not sure if it's worth that or not. Right now it's probably worth a good 600 points since it's definitely better than a 400 point title but not as good as some other 800 point titles.

I've already knocked out about half of the achievements in Hexic 2, so they're not all that difficult to get. There's still those achievements with the Pearls so it'll take quite a few games before I can get the full 200 points out of game.

The only other achievements I've gotten since the last post were from Lego Star Wars II (completed one level for an achievement) and picked up a couple more achievements from NCAA Football 08.
