Adam Tensta - My Cool (2007)
For those hip-hop heads out there. Check out Adam Tensta. He's a hip-hop artist from Sweden. I'm digging his album as it's got a hip-hop/dance sound to it. My Cool is the best song on the album and is very catchy.
Video game news and random stuff I've found on the Internets and in life

I was looking forward to playing Virtua Fighter 5 back when it was announced that it was coming out on the 360. Now that I have it in my possession, I'm glad I did not purchase this game. I'm finding myself playing the game to try to get some of the achievements, which take a ridiculous amount of time to achieve.
The game itself is beautiful, and mechanically well done. There's plenty of things to keep you entertained (collecting items, fighting in virtual tournaments & arcades, fighting online) but after a while, I just got bored with the game. I guess that's the nature of fighting games. You spend more time waiting for a battle to load than you do in an actual battle.
I'll still want to add this title to my library but at a low price. That's why I liked VF4 so much on the PS2: It was only $20. It's hard to justify paying $50-60 for a fighting game when you don't get as much game play as other similar priced games.
I'll play this game for another day or two to see if I can knock out some achievements before I send it back. In the end, I enjoyed the game but got tired of it after a couple of hours.

Here's the new shoes I got today. I'll post my feedback about them after I've worn them a while. So far, I'm liking the cushioning. For those that are wondering, they're the Nike Air Max 180+ II. I may have to hunt down the Nike+ iPod thingy to go with these.

I hope that Conan and Colbert continue this "feud" as they're 2 of my more favorite comedians.

I think someone needs to take a couple more English courses. It's another case of a really bad translation that has excellent comedic value. Click the image for the full sized image.

I got Blue Dragon from Gamefly a couple of weeks ago and today I sent it back to them. My intention was to play through the game since I figured I should rent the games I'm not going to play more than once...and RPGs fall in to that category for me. There's a couple of problems with this idea. One, modern RPGs tend to last 40-60 hours and if I were to play them at a moderate pace it would take me a month to beat them. Two, Gamefly had Forza Motorsport 2 on sale for $15, which I bought. The last reason ended my Blue Dragon quest for now.
What I did play of Blue Dragon I liked. The game felt very much like your typical Japanese RPG. The turn-based battles were fine but they usually didn't go much further than pressing a button to repeatedly to beat the monster. I did like the fact that you can select which battles you want to encounter and being able to battle multiple enemies at once is a nice feature. The ability to choose your own battles makes it much easier to progress through the story instead of constantly being interrupted with battles.
The story was okay but I read that the first disc in the game is pretty slow and it picks up in the latter part of the game. I never got past disc one so I can't really judge what the entire story is like. The beginning is a fairly slow burn and you're thrown in to a middle of a crisis and not really knowing what's going on...which is all fine except the fact that you tend to not care too much about the characters. I never got any sort of personal attachment to the 3 main characters and found Shu and Marumaro to be annoying.
I'll eventually play this game again since I enjoy JRPGs and I feel like once I get in to the seconds disc that I'll end up coming away with a good experience.

12 GB of memory...wow. Of course my phone won't support this much memory but all the more reason to upgrade my phone.

Just imagine the brain power it took to think this brilliant idea up.

Gotta love the Japanese for their quirkiness. I can read a lick of their language which makes their illustrations in their manuals just that much better. I had a Japanese version of a Nintendo Gameboy Advance and it's a hoot to go through the safety manual. Hit the jump for Gizmodo's gallery of warning illustrations.
